Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy civil construction management.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in operational planning and management in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management practices.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.

  • Experience with state, municipal, and federal projects.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating and job procurement processes.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Project Manager, being mutually accountable for project outcomes.
  • Lead the field team, including Tradespeople, Foreman, and Subcontractors.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems such as productivity issues and work interfaces.
  • Review plans and construction drawings to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Order and schedule deliveries of materials required for construction.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractors that impact the company's work.
  • Create and maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication with clients, subcontractors, co-workers, and management.
  • Mentor Foremen and Project Engineers for personal and company growth.
  • Accountable to Foreman/Lead Foreman in areas of safety, information & planning, personnel, materials, tools & equipment, and environment.
  • Manage scheduling, equipment, materials, tools, and personnel effectively.
  • Oversee risk management and ensure cost, productivity, and quality management.
  • Ultimately responsible for labor and equipment costs.
  • Assist in job procurement, estimating, and pre-job planning.
  • Ensure the quality of work meets company and client expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
