About the position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Construction Surveillance Technician with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to conduct daily checks of secured and un-secured areas on the worksite, ensure all construction personnel on the job site constantly display the required badging and have access to certain areas, and provide surveillance of construction personnel during performance at the worksite. You will also maintain a daily security log of all workers entering/exiting the worksite, operate proposed inspection equipment, and utilize knowledge of all construction disciplines, including civil architectural, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering principles. Additionally, you will read and analyze designs and blueprints, exercise knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, and write detailed reports in English while maintaining daily logs during your tour of duty.

Responsibilities

  • Operate proposed inspection equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of all construction disciplines, including civil architectural, mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Read and analyze designs and blueprints and recognize the architect's intended use.
  • Analyze designs and structural complexities intended to mask an ulterior purpose.
  • Exercise knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures and construction principles.
  • Write detailed reports in English and complete analyses of issues, findings, and security situations.
  • Maintain daily logs during their tour of duty.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance (Active)
  • 3-5 Years of security experience specifically related to ICD 705 (SCIF/SAPF) Construction, Intelligence Operations, Counter-Intelligence Operations, Counter-Surveillance Operations, Technical Surveillance Counter-Measures, Physical Security, or a combination of these experiences.
  • 3-5 years experience working as a CST.
  • 3-5 years experience working as a Cleared American Guard (CAG).
  • Ability to stand, walk for several hours while at the worksite.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours, work outdoors in all seasons and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) Certification preferred.
  • Site Security Managers Training or Certification desired.
