About the position

The Application Consultant at WorkForce Software is responsible for delivering the WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite, which includes Time, Scheduling, and Integrations, tailored to meet the unique business challenges of each customer. This role involves configuring the software according to customer requirements, validating results, and ensuring successful implementation. The consultant will engage in coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development process while continuously enhancing their consulting and technical skills through training and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Configure WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite according to customer business requirements using JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Support confirmation and refinement of business requirements with clients in meetings and workshops.
  • Understand WorkForce Software Product configuration requirements and troubleshoot settings.
  • Understand project scope and implementation approach for assigned projects.
  • Continuously improve WFS Product solution skills by staying updated with software enhancements.
  • Handle complex administrative and configuration challenges.
  • Communicate roadblocks and seek guidance in a timely manner.
  • Write complex formulas leveraging mathematical and programming skills.
  • Perform unit and system testing of configured applications and ensure test cases pass as required.
  • Facilitate client workshops demonstrating best practices during implementation.
  • Identify and escalate out-of-scope requirements and delays to the Project Manager or Senior Team members.
  • Organize multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
  • Follow established procedures and processes to improve skills.
  • Estimate work effort accurately and provide status updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal teams during project phases for successful customer implementation.
  • Assist customers with software testing and go-live activities.
  • Mentor others on labor laws and their impact on employers and employees.
  • Respond to customer requirements professionally and timely.
  • Attend training courses and engage in self-learning for skill development.
  • Maintain required WFS Product Suite certifications.
  • Consider customer needs in strategic planning.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate problems to technical experts.
  • Track billable and non-billable project hours.
  • Apply company policies and procedures to deliver WFS solutions to clients.
  • Work on project implementation assignments following standard practices and procedures.
  • Help mentor other team members.
  • Understand various project management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience and demonstrated knowledge of SQL and writing simple to moderate queries.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience and demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Experience with HCM functional domain and business processes.
  • Familiarity with business applications, such as Excel or DBMS systems.
  • Logical and technical mindset for analyzing problems and identifying root causes.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to rapidly shift focus and respond to changing conditions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of implementation principles and lifecycle.
  • Capability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Demonstrates technical aptitude to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances.
  • Ability to work on a dynamic, customer-focused team and establish excellent working relationships.
  • Desire to grow both technically and as a professional consultant.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with or background in HR, Payroll, or Workforce Management.
  • Experience providing application support for complex software systems.
  • Programming experience utilizing Java, C#, C++ or 4GL programming languages.
  • Familiarity with at least one report writer such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, Actuate, etc.
  • SQL Report creation experience.
