About The Position

The Consultant position at Public Consulting Group (PCG) focuses on supporting the Employment & Economic Services (EES) team, which aids government entities in enhancing public assistance programs. The role involves evaluating and improving service delivery systems, analyzing regulations, and providing technical assistance to clients. The Consultant will contribute to transformative solutions that improve communities and support individuals, particularly in expanding services to public health agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience required; Master's degree (MPH or government-focused MBA) preferred.
  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to understand both the service delivery system for programs administered by states and monitored by federal regulators.
  • Ability to understand and be an expert in complex federal regulations and requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications skills, especially data analytics (i.e. ACCESS, SQL, SPSS).
  • Ability to use sound judgment in completing tasks and to seek guidance when needed.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets with accurate results.
  • Ability to move projects forward within a specific timeline and budget while working at a detailed level.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service.
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mindset.
  • Dedication to accomplishing goals and challenges presented by clients and management.

Responsibilities

  • Review and become an expert in business operations for service and efficiency improvements.
  • Evaluate programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Analyze and interpret federal and state law and regulation.
  • Assess best practices and provide technical assistance to clients.
  • Assist with preparation of written reports, deliverables, and other materials for clients.
  • Assist with the implementation of major project phases or tasks.
  • Complete analysis on large data sets.
  • Manage small projects, staff, and tasks with limited supervision while meeting and exceeding performance expectations.
  • Facilitate client discussions.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Manage daily project functions and client interaction.
  • Participate in sales motions related to the practice.
  • Participate in data collection activities including conducting research, note taking, information distillation, and data entry.
  • Participate on proposal writing teams, including writing sections, coordinating efforts, and preparing proposal submissions.
  • Collect and enter project-related data.
  • Prepare and present agendas and written status reports to and for clients.
  • Prepare other written reports and materials for clients.
