Responsibilities

  • Advise our Partnerships and Business Development team with respect to a wide range of legal, regulatory and contractual matters.
  • Be a primary point of contact for drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and finalizing new and amended partnership and distribution agreements in a fast-paced and collaborative in-house environment.
  • Identify and explain non-standard terms and associated risks to relevant business stakeholders, interpret and advise on contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure.
  • Utilize existing systems and applications for creating, editing, storing, tracking, administering and managing new and amended contracts.

Requirements

  • Active and in good standing member of a US State Bar.
  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • 4+ years of legal experience (a combination of law firm and in-house experience focused on consumer financial services, technology licensing and data privacy laws and regulations would be ideal but not required).
  • Detail-oriented project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing projects to effective resolution.
  • Proven ability to work with teams of multiple stakeholders as well as independently with limited guidance as a natural self-starter.
  • Comfortable negotiating ambiguity and conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional professionalism; strong work ethic; sense of humor; and the flexibility needed to thrive in an innovative and fast-paced business environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of financial services laws and regulations (e.g., TILA and Reg. Z, ECOA and Reg. B, FCRA and RESPA), privacy (e.g., GLBA and CCPA), data security, consumer protection laws and regulations and risk management.
