About the position

The Contracts/Compliance Manager at Amentum plays a crucial role in overseeing contract administration and ensuring compliance within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to interface with various departments while managing multiple concurrent activities. The role is fully remote but requires accommodation for the Eastern US time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Leads drafting, reviewing, and negotiating new contracts and contract change orders in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Advises management of contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
  • Acts as the primary interface with customers for contractual issues and monitors contract compliance.
  • Communicates effectively with operational and program leadership, functional support staff, government personnel, and partners on contract issues.
  • Administers and manages contracts through all stages of the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Evaluates contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions and compliance with obligations.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of change order proposals, requests for equitable adjustment, or claims.
  • Prepares and provides information and reports for management use.
  • Maintains accurate contract records and files, entering and maintaining contract data into knowledge management systems.
  • Develops initiatives to increase profitability and establish excellent customer relations.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience as a government contracts professional.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with international or OCONUS contracts.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience working with USAID.
  • Experience with varying contract types: fixed-price, cost, cost-reimbursable, time and material, and incentive type contracts.
  • Proficient in leading negotiations, contract development, and government regulations (FAR, AIDAR, Agency Supplements, etc.).
  • Prior experience in leading negotiations with the United States Government is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international austere environments as needed (up to 10%).
  • A Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college is required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, flexible, and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and business writing skills with experience drafting professional messages.
