The Control Systems & Instrumentation Technician at Superior Metals Manufacturing is responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes through advanced PLC controls and automation. This role involves troubleshooting equipment, collaborating with engineering teams, and driving productivity improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles. The technician will play a crucial role in the integration of new equipment and the development of innovative control methods, making a significant impact on production excellence.

Responsibilities

• Leverage programming skills to tackle PLC and HMI systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and run system tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new control methods.
• Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Drive productivity improvements and minimize waste through Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Play a key role in the launch of new equipment and ensure seamless integration.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
• Proven skills in PLC and HMI programming, motion control, and vision systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems and configure HMI/IIOT systems.
• Experience in programming, configuring, and maintaining PLCs for automated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
