About the position

The Control Systems & Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes at Superior Metals Manufacturing. This position focuses on supporting and advancing PLC controls, refining manufacturing methods, and driving productivity improvements through Lean Manufacturing principles. The technician will troubleshoot complex equipment issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the launch of new equipment, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage programming skills to tackle PLC and HMI systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and run system tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new control methods.
  • Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings.
  • Drive productivity improvements and minimize waste through Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Play a key role in the launch of new equipment and ensure seamless integration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
  • Proven skills in PLC and HMI programming, motion control, and vision systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems and configure HMI/IIOT systems.
  • Experience in programming, configuring, and maintaining PLCs for automated equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and industrial automation software tools like Studio 5000.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
