About the position

The Control Systems & Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes at Superior Metals Manufacturing. This position focuses on supporting and advancing PLC controls, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with various teams to drive innovation and efficiency in production. The technician will be instrumental in the integration of new equipment and the application of Lean Manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage programming skills to tackle PLC and HMI systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and run system tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new control methods.
  • Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings.
  • Drive productivity improvements through Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Play a key role in the launch of new equipment and ensure seamless integration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
  • Proven skills in PLC and HMI programming, motion control, and vision systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems and configure HMI/IIOT systems.
  • Experience in programming, configuring, and maintaining PLCs for automated equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and industrial automation software tools like Studio 5000.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
