About the position

The Control Systems & Instrumentation Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes at Superior Metals Manufacturing. This position focuses on supporting and advancing PLC controls, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with various teams to drive innovation in automation and manufacturing methods. The technician will be instrumental in improving production efficiency and ensuring the seamless integration of new equipment.

Responsibilities

• Leverage programming skills to tackle PLC and HMI systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and run system tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new control methods.
• Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Drive productivity improvements through Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Play a key role in the launch of new equipment.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
• Proven skills in PLC and HMI programming, motion control, and vision systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems and configure HMI/IIOT systems.
• Experience in programming, configuring, and maintaining PLCs for automated equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
