About The Position

The Controller position in Richmond, Virginia, is a critical role within the financial management team, responsible for overseeing accounting functions and contributing to the company's growth strategy. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Solid grasp of Accounting Functions is required
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary
• Knowledge in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
• Familiarity with Auditing processes is a must
• Proficiency in Budget Processes is highly desirable
• Ability to prepare Monthly Financial Statements is required
• Experience with Month End Close is necessary
• Knowledge of Corporate Tax Compliance is crucial
• Strong understanding of Accounting Control is required

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of a senior accountant and staff accountant, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Handle all general accounting tasks, including the management of accounts payable and receivable
• Conduct month end closing activities and prepare monthly financial statements
• Manage budget processes, forecasting, and analysis to aid in business decision-making strategies
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations
• Prepare for and engage with external audits, comfortably liaising with auditors and bankers
• Develop and implement accounting functions, processes, and controls
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel
• Utilize accounting software systems and AP system effectively for financial management
• Communicate with stakeholders, providing quarterly reports to investors and annual financials
• Handle the accounting and financial implications of over 150 related business entities.
