About The Position

The Controller oversees all financial reporting and related financial administrative functions for the North American business. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financials, including daily, monthly, and annual financial closings, payroll oversight, and human resource management for North American employees. The Controller will report directly to the CFO based in Finland and locally to the North American CEO.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar accounting function.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a benefit.
• Exceptional accounting skills with strong numerical proficiency and organization.
• Good problem-solving skills and excellent use of logic.
• Ability to effectively analyze and make decisions in changing environments.
• Previous experience with Human Resource policies and best practices.
• Proven ability to plan and manage resources efficiently.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, QuickBooks, or similar programs; NetSuite is ideal.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for all financial activities including budgets, cash management, controls, reporting, and financial closing procedures.
• Monitoring accounts payables and receivables, and reviewing payroll processing.
• Building effective relationships with external financial partners, such as accounting firms, banks, and the Human Resource PEO partner.
• Ensuring proper financial controls are in place, including regulatory compliance and reporting.
• Collaborating with local and global leadership to strategize on priorities and plans.
• Assuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis.
• Working to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained.
