About The Position

The Controller will oversee the financial reporting and general ledger structure, ensuring compliance with GAAP policies and procedures. This role involves supervising a team of accounting professionals, collaborating with senior leadership to enhance accounting operations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Controller will also manage vendor contracts and relationships, develop new procedures to improve workflow, and ensure timely financial information reporting.

Requirements

  • CPA is required.
  • Experience with over $1 million of revenue management.
  • Experience implementing new systems and processes.
  • Financial results and general ledger experience.
  • Track record of managing a team of 10+ for Fortune 500 companies.
  • Previously held a leadership position during growth phase of $100+ million revenue.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a private equity backed company is preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Routinely review reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial information, in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
  • Supervise a team of accounting professionals, including training and mentoring staff on internal processes and procedures.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to build strategic initiatives and implement processes to increase accounting operation productivity.
  • Comply with local and state government reporting requirements and tax filings, including various state sales tax filings, state and local business tax filings, and tangible property tax filings.
  • Collaborate with account managers, sales team, and department leaders to review and understand the financial impact of customer contracts.
  • Interpret and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
  • Develop and implement new procedures and processes to enhance the workflow of the department and solve new challenges as they occur.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all company financial information monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
