About the position

A New York-based firm is seeking an experienced Controller to manage all accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy. This full-time, in-house role involves overseeing general journal entries, loan processing, and financial statements, while providing strategic insights to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex general journal entries, manage intricate loan entries, and oversee cash flow, A/R, and A/P.
• Conduct financial statement reviews, lead month- and year-end close processes, and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
• Supervise an accounting team, mentor staff, and develop internal controls for financial data accuracy.
• Prepare for audits and stay updated on GAAP and industry standards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to guide business decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR).
• 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable (AP).
