About the position

Trane Technologies is seeking a dedicated Controls Account Manager to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This full-time position is pivotal in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships with building owner accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing account share and ensuring customer retention by providing expert knowledge and consultation on HVAC controls solutions tailored to meet customer needs. This role requires a proactive approach to understanding market opportunities and customer requirements, as well as the ability to assemble and coordinate acquisition teams for various projects. In this position, you will engage with customers to identify their specific HVAC control challenges and develop solutions that consider both financial and performance-based factors. You will be tasked with converting leads into opportunities by effectively managing the sales process, identifying necessary team members, and clearly communicating the next steps. Additionally, you will create and execute a business plan tailored to each account, focusing on long-term mutual support to foster a successful partnership. The role also involves providing technical assistance to customers regarding HVAC controls, Trane products, and relevant industry issues. As part of your responsibilities, you will be required to travel to customer job sites, which may involve outdoor work and exposure to various environmental conditions, including mechanical rooms and variable weather. This hands-on aspect of the job is essential for understanding customer needs and delivering effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop trusting customer relationships with building owner accounts.
  • Maximize account share and customer retention.
  • Provide consultation on HVAC controls related solutions, considering financial and performance aspects.
  • Ascertain customer needs and identify current market opportunities.
  • Assemble and coordinate acquisition teams for customer projects as needed.
  • Convert leads into opportunities by managing the sales process and assigning team members.
  • Develop and execute account-specific business plans for long-term partnerships.
  • Assist customers with technical questions regarding HVAC controls and Trane products.
  • Travel to customer job sites, which may include outdoor work and exposure to variable weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in facilities or HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC controls and service agreements.
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations.
