About The Position

The Expert Controls Engineer is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects, from concept to commissioning and support. This role involves providing technical guidance, designing interfaces for various devices, customizing products, and configuring PLC programs for automated equipment. The position requires significant travel to customer sites, making it essential for candidates to be adaptable and skilled in controls engineering.

Requirements

• Expertise in PLC programming with Rockwell Software.
• Proficiency in HMI programming using FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, Indusoft, or FT Optix.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of 480v, 120v, and 24vdc control circuits.
• Understanding of industrial communication networks.
• Parcel industry experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Subject Matter Expert in Controls Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, including concepting, estimating, design, programming, onsite commissioning, and support.
• Provide technical guidance to commissioning engineers and manage escalation issues.
• Design interfaces to devices such as network I/O, variable frequency drives, servos, camera/laser scanner ID systems, and scales.
• Customize standard products to meet the requirements of each project.
• Configure interfaces to WCS, WES, or other forms of host software systems based on customer requirements.
• Configure standard PLC programs for real-time control of automated equipment and collection of diagnostic and production data.
