About the position

The Packer Inspector role at Revolution involves learning the basic operations of production departments in processing materials or manufacturing products. This position is essential for ensuring product quality and safety while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Employees will work in shifts and have opportunities for growth in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the basic operations of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products.
  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Check the product for seal strength, size, scoring, lip, print quality/location, and others specified on the job specification, no less than four times an hour, and every roll change.
  • Make minor machine adjustments, such as resetting the eye, putting flip back in, raising and cleaning the seal bar, and clearing jams from the machine.
  • Makeup cartons as needed.
  • Observe rolls for splices and changes.
  • Record accurate production records, including count, downtime, scrap, number of rolls run, and complete dockets.
  • Maintain a clean and neat workstation at all times, following American Institute of Baking requirements.
  • Perform other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Retain and label samples as required.
  • Pack product neatly and label appropriately.
  • Make headers and/or saddle seals on the product.
  • Observe Company work rules and safety regulations.
  • Operate punch press.
  • Apply inspection stamp to all cartons of product.
  • Move packed boxes (10-40 lbs.) to pallets.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication to record accurate reports.
  • Ability to read customer specification sheets to verify and ensure the quality of the product.
  • Adequate for legible and accurate recording of production reports and other pertinent information.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a short distance.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and have correctable vision.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold weather.
  • Must be able to handle loud noises.
  • Be able to pass color blindness test.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours.
