About the position

As a Cook III at Aloha International Employment Inc, you will play a vital role in the culinary team, responsible for preparing food items for customers according to their requests, including special dietary needs. Your work will be essential in ensuring that meals are prepared in a timely and consistent manner, maintaining the high standards of quality that our customers expect. You will be tasked with determining food and supply needs based on rotating menus, which requires a keen understanding of inventory management and menu planning. In addition to food preparation, you will be responsible for inspecting food products and supplies to ensure they meet our quality standards. Maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment is crucial, and you will be expected to ensure that your workstations are kept in compliance with health and safety regulations. Checking food before it is served to customers is a critical part of your role, as is controlling and minimizing waste to promote efficiency in the kitchen. You will also need to comply with outlined safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Culinary certification or degree from a culinary school preferred
  • 2-3 years food service or restaurant experience required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, stopping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently
  • Ability to pass a food service sanitation course
  • Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes
