About the position
As a Crew Member at SONIC, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests. Your primary responsibilities will include taking orders, preparing food and drinks, and ensuring that the restaurant maintains a clean and welcoming environment. You will be expected to work efficiently and accurately, making quick change and packaging menu items while checking for quality and consistency. Your enthusiasm for food service will shine through as you interact with guests and provide them with their orders, including ice cream treats and drinks. In addition to food preparation, you will also be responsible for cleaning the drive-in restaurant, which includes tasks such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, and sanitizing food areas. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring that our guests enjoy a safe and pleasant dining experience. Flexibility is key in this position, as you will need to adapt to the restaurant's business needs, which may require working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in various stations, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations and keep your work experience dynamic and engaging.
Responsibilities
- Taking orders and making accurate change quickly
- Providing food service to our guests with enthusiasm
- Packaging all menu items and checking for product quality and consistency
- Preparing drinks and ice cream treats
- Preparing food orders, cooking on the grill, operating the fry station as needed
- Cleaning the drive-in restaurants, including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, wiping counter-tops and sanitizing food areas
Requirements
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to be flexible in all situations based on restaurant business need
- Effective communication skills; basic math and reading skills
- Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at Sonic Drive-In restaurants
- General knowledge and understanding of the food service / restaurant industry or retail operations preferred, but not required
