IHOP Cooks are responsible for the preparation and cooking of food products accurately and with minimal waste. This role requires learning and applying all IHOP-specialized galley terminology, plating, menu items, and procedures according to company standards. Cooks must maintain a sanitized and well-organized kitchen, ensuring that all workstations are prepared for cooking and that kitchen equipment is properly maintained. Checking the quality of ingredients is essential, as is preparing cooking ingredients using various techniques and cooking food using diverse culinary methods. Additionally, Cooks are responsible for arranging food and ensuring appealing presentation, managing food storage, stock, and ingredient orders, and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This position requires standing for up to 8 hours during a shift, lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds, and having full mobility of hands and arms while performing repetitive tasks. Cooks must also follow governmental and company policies while executing their duties.
