About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist. In this vital role, you will assist in the implementation, management and improvement of the hospital's Infection Control Program by collecting, reporting and analyzing data; identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement; coordinating activities and supporting the development and implementation of medical staff and hospital infection control performance improvement initiatives. You will Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation, management and improvement of the hospital's Infection Control Program.
  • Collect, report and analyze data related to infection control.
  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement in infection control practices.
  • Coordinate activities related to infection control initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of medical staff and hospital infection control performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree related to Infection Control or Healthcare.
  • 2 years infection control experience.
  • Professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leadership background.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in specialty preferred.
  • Registered Nurse preferred.
