We are seeking a Coordinator of Rehab Services - Educator to join our team at St. Mark's Hospital. This position is crucial in ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality, efficient care to all patients. The Coordinator will oversee the education and training of our Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), and Speech Therapy (ST) staff in both Acute Care Hospital and Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) settings. This role is designed for someone who is passionate about patient care and is eager to be part of a collaborative team where diversity and inclusion thrive. In this role, you will be responsible for front-line department management, demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to develop consistent, safe, and compassionate standards of care. You will practice effective financial planning and budget management in collaboration with the Rehab Director and IRF Program Director to ensure sound financial operations of both departments. Additionally, you will participate in various committees, such as education, quality improvement, and hospital-wide strategic planning, to enhance the overall quality of care provided. As a clinical resource for rehab staff and other departments, you will coordinate educational opportunities and competencies with rehab leadership, physicians, and nursing/ancillary departments in the hospital, fostering positive working relationships. You will evaluate the effectiveness of care within each OT/PT/ST discipline and the teams as a whole, creating and updating therapy processes and documentation as needed. Your focus will also be on the professional growth of team members, demonstrating a sincere interest in mentoring others through onboarding, yearly competencies, and quarterly trainings. Effective communication with the Rehab Director and other leaders will be essential, especially regarding staff needs and employee retention concerns. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in the therapy realm while participating in program development within acute care therapy and IRF settings. Leading by example, you will demonstrate a positive work ethic and professional behaviors when interacting with staff, patients, and their families. When necessary, you will also provide quality patient care to both acute and IRF patient populations based on daily patient census needs.
