About the position

The Corporate Counsel at North American Roofing is responsible for representing the company in various legal matters, including installation and service-related disputes, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance. This role involves risk management, overseeing general liability claims, and ensuring adherence to legal standards across the organization. The position requires collaboration with business leaders to provide legal guidance and support, with a focus on maintaining high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction in the roofing industry.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other commercial documents.
• Resolve pre-litigation disputes with contractors and business partners.
• Advise managers on contractual rights and obligations regarding underperformance.
• Create standardized policies and procedures for contract lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including licensing and permitting.
• Oversee and manage all worker's compensation claims.
• Direct management of general and automobile liability claims.
• Conduct periodic reviews of insurance policies and negotiate renewals.
• Identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in complex construction law in a corporate legal department or law firm.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.
• Bar admission in Florida or willingness to secure same.

• Experience managing risk related to workers' compensation and general liability claims.
