About the position

The Corporate Merchandising Data Services Department at Albertsons Companies is seeking a Corporate Data Governance Manager. This pivotal role focuses on managing government assistance programs that provide food benefits to our customers. The position can be based in Pleasanton, CA; Itasca, IL; or Boise, ID. The Corporate Data Governance Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with programs that have extensive rules and frequent changes. This includes providing support for at-shelf communication at retail and managing attributes that control item and program eligibility for point of sale. In addition to these responsibilities, the manager will lead a team of analysts, providing direction on daily responsibilities and project priorities. They will also maintain Standard Operating Procedures related to data management and ensure that item information pertaining to legislative requirements is kept current across all operating states. The role requires performing root cause analysis on issues across different systems related to data and acting as a Subject Matter Expert for business processes and system functionality. The manager will also be tasked with managing changing data needs for business initiatives, implementing processes to gain efficiencies and data integrity, and ensuring that business issues for assigned data scopes are resolved in a timely manner. The position emphasizes seeking opportunities for streamlining procedures that ensure data quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in data quality management
  • 2 years prior management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a team
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office skills and hands-on experience with QMF and SQL
  • Strong professional communication skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to handle challenges and meet deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills required
  • High degree of initiative required and ability to quickly prioritize and redirect focus for the team
  • Highly skilled in problem solving, analysis, risk evaluation and solution development
  • Ability to build relationships with a wide range of personnel inside and outside the organization including government agencies across all operating states
