About the position

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE and Industrial Hygiene lead to join our team here at Edge. The HSL will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Edge's existing health and safety procedures, leading day-to-day functions of the assigned Health, Safety and Environment alongside being the lead advocate for HS practices across the business. Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent adherence to, and execution of company safety and environmental standards.
  • Implement and constantly improve the Company's safety program.
  • Perform onsite safety audits of employees, processes, contractors, vendors, etc.
  • Manage HSE incident investigations and reporting, including root cause analysis, development of corrective action strategies, maintaining statistical information, recommending program revisions as appropriate and issue required reports to Management.
  • Provide technical support and problem solving in troubleshooting safety and environmental issues.
  • Coordinate and instruct safety-related training and serve as subject matter expert.
  • Establish and maintain EHS controls and documentation procedures.
  • Provide HSE policies and insurance certificates of liabilities to customers and third-party compliance firms.
  • Maintain fleet safety and recordkeeping.
  • Manage corporate drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Perform internal audits for safety and ISO.
  • Manage and maintain contractor safety platforms (ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta etc).
  • Test benzene, hydrogen sulfide and lead levels on MPC employees/contractors to ensure exposure is within governmental and MPC requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate medical surveillance programs.

Requirements

  • Significant experience with ISNetworld, Veriforce, NCMS and other contractor platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of OSHA, EPA and state regulations in environmental and safety.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Knowledge of safety training, hazmat and fire training.
  • Dependability, integrity, trustworthiness.
  • Desire to make meaningful contribution to growing business.
  • First responder/CPR trained (desired).
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education credentials in Biological Science, Environmental health and Safety, applied science or public health or equivalent background experience and training providing knowledge of appropriate environmental health and safety practices principles and procedures.
