Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
• Communicate effectively with families, physicians, and other healthcare members.
• Maintain documentation of services in the medical record.
• Assume responsibility for patient care, quality control, and equipment maintenance under the direction of the occupational therapist.
• Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval for services from referring physicians.
• Identify and assess the patient's need for special equipment.
• Conduct tests and measurements of the neuromuscular skeletal system.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their diagnosis, plan of care, and treatment goals.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community in-services.

Requirements

• Addiction counseling certification
• Occupational Therapy Assistant License
• BLS Certification
• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Entry-level experience in acute care setting preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
