Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment plan, and goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with standards of practice.
  • Conduct tests and measurements of the neuromuscular skeletal system.
  • Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval for services from referring physicians.
  • Identify and assess the patient's need for special equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and other disciplines regarding patient care issues.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and community in-services.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree from an accredited OTA program.
  • OTA license issued by the State of Texas.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting preferred; new grads will be considered.
