About the position

The Count Supervisor at The Mint Gaming Hall will play a crucial role in overseeing the Count Team Attendants while performing various administrative functions. This position requires consistent communication with the Cage Manager and other departmental staff to ensure smooth operations. The Count Supervisor is responsible for the collection and counting of cash drop boxes and voucher cassettes, adhering to the correct operational procedures. This role also involves observing and reporting the performance of the Count Team, verifying the accuracy of Money Room equipment, and ensuring that all necessary materials are in place for efficient operations. In addition to these responsibilities, the Count Supervisor will determine the order in which cash drop boxes and voucher cassettes are opened and counted. They will also manage access to the Money Room, authorizing entries and exits upon confirmation from Surveillance. The supervisor will oversee the transportation of money and paperwork within the Money Room and implement emergency procedures as needed. They will prepare and sign incident or discrepancy reports related to the count or collection, ensuring that all Money Room paperwork is accurate and signed upon confirmation. The Count Supervisor will also be responsible for reporting any equipment malfunctions and assisting guests during minor issues. They will train Count Team Attendants as directed by the Cage Manager and ensure compliance with department and company standards. Providing exceptional service to internal guests is a key aspect of this role, which includes greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly manner and addressing their needs and preferences effectively. The Count Supervisor must be adaptable, able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently communicates operational information with the Cage Manager or above, other departmental staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Ensures all cash drop boxes and voucher cassettes are collected and counted according to the correct operational procedures.
  • Observes and reports the performance of the Count Team to the Cage Manager or above.
  • Verifies the accuracy of all Money Room equipment and ensures all necessary materials are in place.
  • Determines the order the cash drop boxes and voucher cassettes will be opened and counted.
  • Responsible for obtaining the access card and the keys of the corresponding count area.
  • Authorizes all entries and exits to the Money Room upon Surveillance confirmation.
  • Controls and oversees the transportation of all money and paperwork within the Money Room.
  • Oversees all emergency related procedures and implements if needed.
  • Prepares and signs any incident or discrepancy report related to the count or collection.
  • Checks all Money Room paperwork for accuracy and signs upon confirmation.
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions for further maintenance, while continuing to assist guests in the event of a minor malfunction of a terminal.
  • Refers any major equipment malfunctions to the Cage Manager or above in a timely manner.
  • Authorizes the transfer of cash to the safe area.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of all Money Room equipment and operations and trains Count Team Attendants as directed by the Cage Manager or above.
  • Responsible and accountable for all keys issued while on duty.
  • Assists the Cage Manager or above upon request with scheduling and observes and reports any non-compliance with department and company standards and/or policies and procedures.
  • In the absence of the Cage Manager or above, follows the provided schedule to ensure meal period and other breaks are completed.
  • Provides BIG Service to internal guests and ensures their complete satisfaction.

Requirements

  • One year of previous experience working in a high volume, fast-paced Money Room environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months and have no active disciplinary action during the last six months.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass all prescreening and background checks.
