About the position

The Creative Brand Copywriter II at PetSafe Brands is a key storyteller and leader responsible for developing marketing copy that attracts consumers, builds brand equity, and increases conversion rates. This role involves crafting compelling narratives across various platforms, ensuring consistency in brand messaging, and leading creative projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position requires exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to embodying the values of PetSafe Brands.

Responsibilities

  • Think strategically and translate marketing initiatives into informative, concise, and compelling copy solutions that increase conversion.
  • Monitor and manage PetSafe brand messaging to create consistency of tone and voice across all deliverables.
  • Generate engaging and creative messaging for various marketing materials such as retail packaging, point-of-purchase displays, advertisements, social media, email campaigns, website content, and brand content.
  • Lead copywriting projects and initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Self-manage projects in collaboration with cross-functional teammates to develop compelling brand messaging to include in blogs, ad copy, landing page copy, email, and video scripts.
  • Align with brand, category, and the insights team to understand customer personas, their challenges and what copy drives action and apply quantitative and qualitative learnings to optimize messaging.
  • Differentiate products through effective product-specific copywriting.
  • Develop and maintain the brand voice and tone guidelines, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
  • Regularly review and improve copy to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Consistently implement industry best practices into copy process and look to continuously improve messaging for the brand.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to creative teammates, offering feedback and support to help them grow their skills and achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience in creative, advertising, strategy and/or marketing.
  • Ability to create engaging and persuasive messaging for different audiences with ease and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, with a creative customer-driven approach, thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience leading creative reviews and presenting concepts to large groups is a plus.
  • Experience with web and ecommerce writing is preferred.
