About the position

The Creative Director, Events (CD) is responsible for leading the creative vision for events, ensuring that innovative communication campaigns are developed and executed effectively for clients. This role involves directing a creative team, managing multiple projects, and ensuring that the creative strategy aligns with client goals and audience needs. The CD must possess strong strategic thinking skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to articulate creative concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the creative team in the conception, design, development, and production of innovative communications campaigns for assigned clients/programs.
  • Articulate the creative vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering unique experiences for Fortune 500 clients.
  • Oversee the development of quality and effective communications solutions, ensuring alignment with the event's theme and design.
  • Provide detailed creative input and rationale through creative briefs and presentation materials, ensuring accurate budget development.
  • Support event managers and coordinators to ensure consistent execution of event themes and objectives.
  • Attend client meetings to understand their needs and provide strategic communications recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience producing creative for live, digital, and trans-media engagements across various industries.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the year for client meetings and event support.
  • Strong understanding of the creative process, including design, copy development, and production techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong creative abilities with a knack for developing innovative ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a creative team to enhance quality and creativity.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • General understanding of financial analysis and budget development.
  • Proficient in Mac computer and software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customer service experience in a service-related industry.
