About the position

The Creative Social Media Manager & Content Creator for the Office of Spiritual Development at Liberty University plays a pivotal role in enhancing the digital presence of the office. This position requires a creative individual who can work independently while exercising good judgment and discretion. The primary responsibility is to assist the Creative Director in creating essential media assets that support the mission of the Office of Spiritual Development and its associated offices. The role encompasses a variety of media formats, including photo, video, graphic, audio, print, and digital assets, ensuring that all content aligns with the university's values and objectives. In this dynamic position, the Creative Social Media Manager will develop video content for Convocation and Campus Community guests, manage all social media platforms for the Office of Spiritual Development, and engage in the ideation, writing, development, scheduling, and posting of content. The individual will be tasked with defining and implementing measurable strategies and campaigns to enhance the digital presence of the office, creating a comprehensive digital marketing plan, and identifying areas for improvement within the current social media strategy. Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work under pressure are crucial, as the role involves managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while adhering to project specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints. Staying current with Gen Z trends and industry creative tools is essential for this role. The Creative Social Media Manager will be expected to ideate new initiatives and content that resonate with the target audience, collaborating with team members to plan and execute these projects effectively. This position not only requires creativity and strategic thinking but also a strong understanding of digital media and marketing principles, making it a vital part of the Office of Spiritual Development's mission to engage and inspire the university community.

Responsibilities

  • Developing video assets and content for Convocation and Campus Community guests.
  • Managing all OSD social media platforms, including ideating, writing, developing, scheduling, and posting content.
  • Defining and implementing measurable strategies and campaigns to meet digital presence objectives.
  • Creating a digital marketing plan and social media strategy, identifying strategic weaknesses, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment within project specifications, deadlines, and budget restrictions.
  • Staying up-to-date with Gen Z trends and industry creative tools, ideating new initiatives and content that connects with the target audience.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Digital Media, Cinematic Arts, Strategic Communication, Marketing, or similar preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe programs such as DiVinci Resolve, Adobe Premier Pro, and Adobe After Effects.
  • 2+ years in a professional Videographer, Social Media Management, Digital Marketing, or other creative position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent computer skills.
