About the position

The Lot Operations Specialist II at Cox Automotive is responsible for organizing and maintaining the placement of vehicles within designated zones or move areas according to standards set by lot operations leadership. Daily tasks include utilizing information from supervisors and dashboards to make informed decisions about vehicle staging, ensuring safety and efficiency in vehicle movement, and confirming the operability of vehicles. The role also involves labeling vehicles for accurate movement tracking, communicating inventory status to crew leaders, and modeling company values and safety commitments. Additional duties may be assigned by management, and overtime may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain vehicle placement within designated zones.
  • Utilize information from supervisors and dashboards for staging decisions.
  • Implement continuous improvement efforts for safety and efficiency.
  • Move and stage vehicles to eliminate multiple drop-off points.
  • Confirm vehicle operability and engage service teams for inoperable vehicles.
  • Label vehicles with sale and routing labels for accurate tracking.
  • Communicate inventory status to crew leaders and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Champion Cox/Manheim values and ensure respectful treatment of all employees.
  • Follow all safety and health procedures as a visible representation of safety commitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience totaling 5 years.
  • Valid driver's license required for safe driving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic mechanical knowledge (e.g., identifying flat tires, low gas, jump starting vehicles).
  • Knowledge of lot operations and layout.
  • Familiarity with LDM.
