About the position

As a CT Technologist at Sheridan Memorial Hospital you will play a critical role in our commitment to providing accurate diagnostic imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Your responsibilities will include operating CT (computed tomography) equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process
  • Obtain patient medical history and verify patient identification and consent prior to performing procedures
  • Position patients correctly and operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images of the appropriate anatomy
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any adverse reactions or complications
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are ready for use for all procedures, including room cleanliness and stocking
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic techniques
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results
  • Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain CT equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control
  • Report any errors to the service engineer
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices
  • Willingness to complete x-ray imaging

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiology technology program, required
  • Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required
  • Current State of Wyoming Radiologic Technologist License, required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required
  • Experience working as a CT Technologist in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferred
  • Proficiency in operating CT equipment and other imaging technology, preferred
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in CT imaging, preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Knowledge of general anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Additional languages preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge
