CHI Health Schuyler opened its doors on October 11, 1953, serving the communities of Schuyler, Clarkson, Howells, Leigh, and the residents of rural Colfax County in Nebraska. In addition to its 25 critical access beds, CHI Health Schuyler offers a wide variety of services to residents—children, teens, adults, senior citizens, friends, and neighbors. CHI Health Schuyler is proud to provide health care services close to home.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures using diagnostic imaging equipment for radiographic imaging under the direction of a physician.
  • Provide health care services using various imaging techniques such as radiographic, computed axial tomography, magnetic resonance, interventional radiology, mammography, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Conduct proper assessment of the patient and explain the procedure, including duration and process.
  • Verify informed consent and assist physician with interventional procedures such as needle localization, aspiration, and biopsies.
  • Practice aseptic and sterile techniques and observe universal precautions.
  • Select proper equipment and set correct technical factors and procedure protocols before performing procedures.
  • Recognize and follow radiation safety standards including 'Image Gently' and 'Image Wisely'.
  • Obtain and record clear and complete patient history to assist in image interpretation.
  • Perform quality assessment of images and evaluate equipment issues, reporting to supervisor or manager.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and perform quality tests as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and understand accreditation processes and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
  • BLS required upon hire.
  • ARRT Board Certified in Radiology (RTR).
  • Must hold a valid Medical Radiography or General Radiology Technologist Permit to Practice license in Nebraska or Iowa.
  • ARRT Board Certified in CT within 2 years of hire.
