About the position

The Custodial Account Manager at Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the custodial department for an office building account. This role involves managing staff, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and fostering relationships with clients. The position aims to provide high-quality service while supporting individuals with disabilities in their rehabilitation and employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all aspects of the Custodial Department, including fiscal responsibility.
  • Train, develop, and supervise site supervisors to ensure high quality and efficient service.
  • Inspect contract sites for quality control and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage contract procurement and maintain rapport with customers and office managers.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment within budget requirements.
  • Maintain and repair all janitorial equipment and assigned vehicles.
  • Supervise or perform stripping and refinishing of hard floor surfaces and carpet cleaning.
  • Assist with snow removal and maintain a snow crew on call.
  • Distribute supply equipment and payroll to accounts as directed.
  • Implement orientation sessions for clients and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with DOL, CARF, OPCRP, SourceAmerica, DOD, ODOT, GSA, SCA, and other applicable standards.
  • Develop employees for future administrative roles and ensure quality service for program participants.
  • Assist the General Manager in meeting rehabilitation goals for program participants.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in building services management.
  • At least one year of management experience.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Three years of supervision in Custodial Contract Services or equivalent management experience.
  • Ability to pass federal clearance background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Floor care experience preferred but not required.
