About the position

The Office of Admissions at Indiana University Bloomington is responsible for recruiting a diverse and inclusive cohort of undergraduate students. This position involves extensive public interaction, providing detailed information about the admissions process, and assisting prospective students and their families. The role requires maintaining professionalism while managing high-volume client contact and ensuring accurate processing of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed information to students and external publics on admissions policies and procedures.
  • Assist applicants in completing applications and resolving discrepancies.
  • Answer inbound calls and communicate through various channels including emails, SMS, live chat, and social media.
  • Prepare mailings such as admit packets and respond to inquiries.
  • Oversee the processing and evaluation of all applications for admissions.
  • Maintain records and databases of applications, updating and purging as necessary.
  • Review applications for completeness and contact applicants for missing information.
  • Schedule and oversee applicant interviews and make recommendations regarding admissions decisions.
  • Respond to inquiries on the admissions process and application status.
  • Counsel potential students regarding admission requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
  • 2 years of office or related experience.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Time management and priority setting skills.
