About The Position

As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a subject matter expert in HPC, partnering with technical sales teams to showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud to prospective and existing customers. Your role will involve understanding customer needs, developing tailored cloud solutions, and addressing technical challenges to facilitate successful implementations. You will engage with various stakeholders, including technical and executive leaders, to present practical solutions and drive digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, implementing shared file systems, batch scheduling, and workload management.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience within the Manufacturing ISV, such as Siemens, Altair, Dassault Software, and Ansys.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems.
  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies, migrations, proposals, or organizational alignment and change management.
  • Experience as a technical sales engineer in a high-performance computing environment or a customer-facing role.
  • Experience designing and implementing HPC systems, including job schedulers, message-passing interfaces, high-speed interconnects, and parallel file systems.
  • Experience in lab creations, automation scripts, and API-based deployment methodologies.
  • Understanding of common systems management concepts such as image management, patching, automated deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products by educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses.
  • Assist sales teams by solving key technical issues for customers.
  • Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
  • Develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to address customer challenges.
  • Conduct proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks.
  • Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, and enterprise architectures for Google Cloud implementations.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing application/infrastructure environments and readiness for cloud adoption.
  • Develop architectural blueprints for infrastructure and high-performance computing migration opportunities.
