About the position

The Sales & Customer Service Associate at The UPS Store is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to retail customers. This part-time position involves processing packages for shipment, operating various office equipment, and providing accurate information about products and services. The role requires a friendly demeanor and a willingness to learn all aspects of the business quickly.

Responsibilities

• Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
• May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting if scheduled to.
• Expertly operates POS equipment.
• Helps with other Center functions such as faxing, copying, laminating, and binding.
• Assists customers with expert boxing and packaging, selling appropriate products for safe shipping.
• Provides completed documentation for shipping.
• Takes ownership of customers' packing, shipping, and/or print problems and offers viable solutions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to arrive to work by 8:15am Monday through Friday and 8:45am on Saturday if scheduled to open.
• Must be able to work as late as 7:15pm Monday through Friday and 5:30pm on Saturday if scheduled to close.
• Must be able to stand for a full 8-hour shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Retail/customer service experience of at least 1 year.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math.
• Pass background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Printing and graphic design experience is a huge plus, but not a requirement.
