About the position

The Digital Print/Center Associate at The UPS Store is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing various print and shipping tasks. This full-time position requires a proactive individual who can handle customer inquiries, process shipments, and produce print materials efficiently. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to a diverse clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and fulfill the needs of walk-in customers and telephone/email inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively and continuously practice good listening with customers, co-workers, vendors, and leadership.
  • Empathize and manage demanding, impatient, and/or frustrated customers to turn a stressful event into a positive experience.
  • Take ownership of customers' packing, shipping, and/or print problems and offer viable solutions.
  • Package shipments for safe arrival, including assembling stock boxes, building custom boxes, and properly cushioning contents.
  • Manage the logistics of small to medium projects, follow through to completion, and update all parties as needed.
  • Produce/design, proof, and update materials for print projects using Microsoft Suites for both Mac and PC.
  • Operate all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and be willing to teach others.
  • Prioritize and optimize the workload to streamline the production flow.
  • Frequently multi-task while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc.
  • Take action to learn new products, services, alternative solutions, and industry trends as well as occasionally reviewing/retraining on lesser used services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to work and complete tasks independently in a quick turn environment.
  • Able to work collaboratively.
  • High energy level.
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible.
  • Able to lift 40+ pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of customer service experience.
  • One to two years of experience in a print production/graphic design role or a two-year degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
