About the position

The Customer Service Clerk at Lowell General Hospital plays a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service in the Service Response Center. This per diem position requires flexibility in scheduling, including day and evening shifts, as well as rotating weekend and holiday shifts. The clerk is responsible for answering calls, dispatching requests, and supporting various departments within the hospital to enhance the overall patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls that come into the call center courteously and expediently.
  • Dispatch calls to the appropriate service and/or staff member.
  • Assist with the prioritization of daily assignments as directed by the department manager or director.
  • Perform various support tasks to aid other departments within Hospitality Services.
  • Accurately file and organize charts.
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate variances.
  • Assist with follow-through on patient meals.
  • Receive and transfer calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide follow-up calls as needed.
  • Receive and record messages in accordance with job guidelines.
  • Understand the scope of all departments' services to better respond to requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service or call center experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to multitask and possess necessary computer skills.
