About the position

The Customer Service Representative Underwriter plays a crucial role in ensuring the growth of the company by selecting desirable personal lines business. This position involves assisting agency staff in writing new business, responding to underwriting inquiries, and re-underwriting existing business to mitigate undesirable risks. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist agency staff in selecting and writing new business.
• Respond to underwriting questions and concerns from the agency force via phone, email, and workflow.
• Re-underwrite existing business to modify or eliminate undesirable risks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal compliance rules and regulations.
• Work under pressure and shift priorities to meet corporate and business unit goals.
• Negotiate and cope with stressful situations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Some insurance experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills to learn multiple systems quickly.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records.
