New Pharmacy Technicians will undergo an extensive CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and must meet all registration, licensing, and certification requirements as per their State's Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Initially, their duties will be limited by their manager until they complete the necessary requirements. Once these are satisfied, there is an opportunity to expand their responsibilities and enhance their clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training, paving the way for career advancement within the pharmacy sector. Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team's ability to fill patient prescriptions accurately and safely.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to State guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Licensure requirements vary by state.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus to concentrate on tasks without distraction.
  • Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor and proactive approach to helping others.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Mathematical reasoning skills to solve problems related to prescriptions and medication dosages.
  • Problem resolution skills to identify and address issues as they arise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
