About the position

Acclaim Technical Services (ATS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Northern Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall security of our organization's information systems and networks. You will utilize data collected from various cyber defense tools, such as IDS alerts, firewalls, and network traffic logs, to analyze events and mitigate threats. Your expertise will be crucial in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting all events and anomalies in accordance with established computer network directives. You will also evaluate, test, recommend, coordinate, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring they align with cybersecurity standards. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will identify security risks and exposures, determine the causes of security violations, and suggest procedures to prevent future incidents. You will develop techniques for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits, evaluate hardware and software for potential security impacts, and investigate security incidents such as intrusions or attacks. Additionally, you will provide advanced guidance and leadership to less-experienced cybersecurity personnel and may serve as a team or task leader, although this position does not involve direct management of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze events using data from various cyber defense tools to mitigate threats.
  • Interpret, analyze, and report all events and anomalies according to computer network directives.
  • Evaluate, test, recommend, coordinate, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity policies and systems.
  • Ensure cybersecurity plans and procedures align with established standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity.
