About The Position

The Cyber Security Project Engineer at SAIC's Space & Intel Business Group is responsible for conducting technical risk assessments and providing guidance on risk mitigation related to various enabling technologies. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and involves analyzing IT systems for vulnerabilities, evaluating network operations, and ensuring that risk considerations are integrated early in the development cycle.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years or more experience; Master's degree and 12 years or more experience; PhD and 9 years or more experience.
  • CISSP Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing IT systems for cyber security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience developing IT system or network architecture design and conducting vulnerability analysis using tools like Nmap and Wireshark.
  • Experience analyzing IT network configurations of devices such as firewalls and routers for vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of communications protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, and OSX.
  • Experience with cloud computing technology and hypervisors like HyperV and VMWare ESX.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical risk assessments and provide technical risk mitigation guidance on the use of various enabling technologies.
  • Gather Body of Evidence (BOE) and assess artifacts such as CONOPS, use cases, and technical design details.
  • Apply consistent and systematic investigative practices to assess risks and identify threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate system or network operations using network management platforms and scanning tools.
  • Analyze system, network, or cloud configurations for mis-configured settings and vulnerabilities.
  • Remain current with existing and future technologies to assist the Customer with identifying associated risks.
  • Provide guidance on potential cyber threats and advise decision-makers on risks and mitigations.
  • Ensure appropriate risk mitigation considerations are integrated early in the development cycle.
  • Organize and schedule work to effectively manage a case load.
  • Track, document, and communicate progress status updates on technical risk assessment reports.
