About the position

The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst I at Modivcare is responsible for monitoring and triaging security alerts and reports from company systems. This role involves developing and implementing security policies, maintaining dashboards, and ensuring effective control environments. The analyst will work closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to enhance security alerting and response capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and triage security relevant alerts and reports from company systems.
  • Develop and implement policies and configurations that trigger security alerts.
  • Maintain dashboards and collect metrics for security monitoring.
  • Capture logs from security systems and develop new alerts, rules, and playbooks.
  • Document all aspects of alerting and monitoring systems.
  • Monitor control environments to ensure effective operation of security controls.
  • Assist in tracking and responding to incoming alerts from the SOC and MSSPs.
  • Perform tier 1 triage of alerts and escalate as necessary.
  • Support penetration testers and incident response specialists.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for non-business hours alert response.
  • Perform routine reporting on security events and system hygiene.
  • Assist in the identification and documentation of risks throughout the environment.
  • Support compliance requests related to SOX, HITRUST, SOC 2, and HIPAA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Security/Cyber Security.
  • Zero or more years of experience in cybersecurity operations.
  • Technical security certificates preferred (e.g., SANS GIAC).
  • Non-technical security certificates a plus (e.g., ISC(2) CISSP, ISACA CRISC).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, Windows Server, and TCP/IP.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and web-based collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security tools and monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management systems.
  • Knowledge of IT General Control testing activities.
