About the position

The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst position at Apex Systems involves supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in cybersecurity policy and operational practices. The role requires extensive experience in federal consulting and cybersecurity defense, focusing on drafting technical policies and providing strategic guidance to senior-level decision-makers. This position is hybrid, primarily based at the Pentagon, and is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Support DoD-level cybersecurity defense teams with operational understanding of cybersecurity practices.
• Draft executive and formal senior-level correspondence to aid decision-making.
• Develop organization-level technical policies and strategies.
• Provide briefings to clients and team members on technical, policy, and functional issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in federal government, professional services, or federal consulting.
• 4+ years of experience supporting DoD-level cybersecurity defense teams.
• 4+ years of experience writing or drafting executive or formal senior-level correspondence.
• 2+ years of experience drafting organization-level technical policies and strategies.
• 1+ years of experience supporting DoD architecture concepts.
• BA or BS degree.
• Top Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• CISSP or CISM Certification.
• Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications.
• Knowledge of Joint instructions and manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
