About the position
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is seeking applications for part-time affiliate faculty positions in the Dance Program. These positions are temporary and non-tenure track, with teaching assignments varying based on departmental needs each semester. The role involves teaching courses, preparing materials, grading, and providing academic support to a diverse student population.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
- Address student questions in accordance with university policies.
- Provide academic support to students as needed.
- Maintain office hours for student consultations.
- Comply with university-wide student evaluation and peer observation policies.
- Adapt to new modes of instruction as required.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Arts in Dance or a related field with 6 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance or a related field with 4 years of relevant experience.
Nice-to-haves
- A Master of Fine Arts in Dance or related field with 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Arts Degree in Dance with 3 years of relevant experience; or a Doctorate in Dance or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
