The Data Analyst/Data Governance position is a long-term hybrid role based in either Auburn Hills, MI or Frisco, TX. This role is pivotal in collaborating with various stakeholders, including Data Stewards, Information Architects, Data Quality Analysts, and both Business and Technical Stakeholders. The primary focus is to research and document data, metadata, and reference data to ensure compliance with specific use cases and regulatory expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining data security classifications and analyzing data profiles in conjunction with data users and stakeholders to foster a comprehensive understanding of the data relevant to various use cases. In this role, the Data Analyst will be tasked with cataloging data, creating a Data Dictionary, and ensuring that basic metadata is available and associated with relevant regulations or policies when necessary. The position also involves defining data quality rules and identifying data standardization needs. Maintaining comprehensive data documentation is crucial, which includes data dictionaries, lineage, data flow diagrams, and source-to-target mappings. The Data Analyst will guide users in understanding their data, its quality, and the selection of data based on use cases to ensure that the data is fit for its intended purpose. Collaboration is key, as the Data Analyst will work with teams to identify needed data sets and critical data elements, delivering data requirements to data engineering for configuration. Validation of data quality and use is also a significant part of the role. The Data Analyst will operate within an Agile framework, delivering tasks within defined project sprints while adhering to established data standards, procedures, and processes to ensure that data meets the needs of the use case and complies with applicable regulatory requirements.
