About the position

Our client, a leading sporting goods and apparel manufacturing company, is seeking a Data Analyst to join their team in Beaverton, OR. This position is a 9-month contract role with the possibility of extension, requiring an on-site presence for a typical 40-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field and possess 8-9 years of relevant experience, particularly in supply chain or retail environments. Candidates with certifications in SQL, data analysis, Databricks, data modeling, and Hackolade will be prioritized. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential as this role involves external-facing responsibilities. In this role, the Data Analyst will lead efforts to achieve key goals across consumer and commercial analytics functions. The analyst will collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their requirements, develop sustainable data solutions, and provide actionable insights and recommendations. Responsibilities include documenting and communicating systems and analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionalities into business-relevant language, and validating key performance indicators to quantitatively measure business performance. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for communicating with cross-functional teams to identify the business causes of data anomalies and outliers. They will develop data governance standards from data ingestion to product dictionaries and documentation, as well as create SQL queries and data visualizations to meet ad-hoc analysis requests and ongoing reporting needs. The role requires organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures, using data to predict trends, performing statistical analysis, and employing data mining techniques to extract information and identify correlations and patterns. Additionally, the analyst will monitor data quality, remove corrupt data, and evaluate new technologies and tools for high-volume data processing. The position also involves improving existing processes through automation and efficient workflows, building scalable data and analytics solutions, and independently supporting end-to-end analysis to inform product strategy, data architecture, and reporting decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any science or engineering field.
  • 8-9 years of experience in data analysis, SQL, and data visualization.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experience in supply chain or retail preferred.
  • Certifications in SQL, data analysis, Databricks, data modeling, or Hackolade are prioritized.
