The Data Architect at Berkley Technology Services is a visionary role focused on designing and implementing innovative data solutions that enhance business operations and analytics. This position serves as a critical link between business and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable technical strategies while ensuring transparency for informed decision-making. The Data Architect will set standards and best practices for the data landscape, evaluate data-centric vendors, and contribute to high-impact projects, driving continuous improvement within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Consult on high-impact projects and contribute to the development of standards and best practices.
• Mentor the next generation of data experts.
• Build relationships with business partners and technical groups on data strategy.
• Lead data architecture projects and manage change effectively.
• Identify and address gaps in data development patterns and standards.
• Participate in the architecture review process and advocate for patterns and standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience developing solutions and leading large-scale data initiatives.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in multiple data domains such as data engineering, database administration, and data science/AI.
• 2+ years of experience in large-scale data warehouse/data lake environments on platforms like Teradata or cloud-based environments like Redshift.
• 2+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• 2+ years of experience with virtualization and hyper-convergence approaches.
• 2+ years of experience with multiple scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise-scale data integration tools (Informatica, SSIS, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 4+ years working with data solutions for analytics and predictive modeling.
• 3+ years using Agile development methodologies.
• 2+ years as a Data Architect.
• Practical experience with AI.
• Certified in Azure or AWS Cloud architecture.
